Τουρκια: Ενας τοιχος με γυναικεια τακουνια για 440 θυματα εμφυλης βιας

H ενδοοικογενειακή και η έμφυλη βία αποτελούν κοινωνικά φαινόμενα που αφήνουν πίσω τους εκατοντάδες νεκρές γυναίκες κάθε χρόνο σε όλο τον κόσμο. Στην Τουρκία, συγκεκριμένα, υπολογίζεται ότι το 40% του γυναικείου πληθυσμού της χώρας έχει υπάρξει ή είναι κατ' εξακολούθηση θύμα ενδοοικογενειακής βίας. 
 
Ειδικά, το 2018, 440 γυναίκες έχασαν τη ζωή τους από τους ίδιους τους τους συζύγους. Έχοντας ως οδηγό αυτόν τον αποκρουστικό αριθμό, ο Τούρκος καλλιτέχνης Vahit Tuna έφτιαξε ένα installation σε κτίριο στην Κωνσταντινούπολη, «ντύνοντας» μία ολόκληρη πλευρά του με 440 ζευγάρια γυναικείων παπουτσιών. Στόχος του, να αποτελέσει ένα μνημείο για όλα τα θύματα αλλά και έναν τόπο αφύπνισης ενάντια στη βία κατά των γυναικών. 
 
Ο ίδιος, σε συνέντευξη του, έχει δηλώσει αφορμή για το συγκεκριμένο έργο του στάθηκαν τα διαρκώς αυξανόμενα μηνύματα στα social media για το θέμα. Ωστόσο, καθώς οι ιστορίες των θυμάτων «εξαφανίζονται» σχεδόν όσο γρήγορα εμφανίζονται, ο Tuna αποφάσισε να κάνει κάτι που θα μείνει για πάντα και θα θυμίζει όσα δεν πρέπει να ξεχνιούνται.
